Encaustic Paintings on Panel

About

Encaustic is an ancient painting process using a mixture of beeswax, resin and pigment that is heated to 200 degrees and applied to a substrate by fusing it with heat. Encaustic medium can be painted, scraped, carved, embedded and layered, producing surfaces ranging from smooth and luminous to highly textured. Its versatility makes it especially appealing for experimental and mixed-media work.
