About

Encaustic wax can be used to create freestanding sculptures and three-dimensional reliefs, extending the medium beyond traditional painting. Melted wax can be poured into molds, built up in layers, or used to coat materials that are then shaped, folded and draped, much like papier-mâché. These forms can stand alone or be incorporated into a painting, creating sculptural elements that extend beyond the surface.
