Introduction to Encaustic Painting
Discover the beauty and versatility of encaustic painting in this immersive, two-day small group workshop at Porter Mill Studios.
Designed for artists of all experience levels, this workshop introduces the foundations of working with melted beeswax and damar resin while giving you plenty of time to experiment, explore, and develop your own creative approach.
Through demonstrations, guided practice, and individual studio time, you’ll learn how to safely prepare and work with encaustic materials and tools. We’ll explore techniques for building and fusing layers, creating both smooth and highly textured surfaces, and incorporating color and imagery into your work.
